Assemblymember Holly Mitchell (D – Los Angeles) was sworn in to the State Senate last week, reportedly making her the first African American woman to serve in the State Senate in 12 years, according to an article on CenturyCity.Patch.com.
According to the article, Mitchell will represent Century City, including the communities of Culver City and parts of West Los Angeles.
