In order to get California’s economy back on track, we must create jobs.  No one is better at creating jobs that you, the small business owner.  You’ve told us that two things would help you create jobs:

1. Getting health insurance costs under control; and
2. More contract opportunities with the insurance industry.

Let’s Get Health Insurance Under Control
AB 52 (Feuer): Over the last 10 years health insurance rates have increased by more than 130%.  This is because no one has the power to deny rate increases for health insurance.  This bill will give the Insurance Commissioner and the Department of Managed Health Care the power to deny unreasonable rate increases and prevent rates from going up more than once a year.  This will help more individuals and small businesses to purchase health insurance at an affordable rate. >>read the AB 52 Fact Sheet

If your organization is able to support AB 52 (Feuer), please fax a letter of support immediately to:
Assemblyman Mike Feuer: (916) 319-2142 (Fax)

Supplier Diversity Keeps Businesses in California
AB 53 (Solorio):  Insurance companies collect over $100 billion a year in premiums from small businesses and consumers in California.  However, no one knows how much of those dollars are being invested back into California’s small businesses.  AB 53 creates transparency by requiring the largest insurance companies to annually report on how much they contract with diverse, women and disabled veteran owned businesses. >>read the AB 53 Fact Sheet
