The Star Trek episode “Mirror, Mirror” featured a parallel universe, with alternate versions of Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy, Scotty and Lt. Uhura.

Comic-Con felt a bit like that this weekend with two Kirks and a pair of Uhuras in attendance.

While attending “50 Artists, 50 Years,” an art exhibit celebrating Trek (which includes a work by Leonard Nimoy and likenesses of Nichols’ Uhura), Nichols, 83, `spoke to USA TODAY about the franchise’s longevity, its legacy and the existence of multiple Uhuras.
