Community Leaders Recognize James C. Shelby for His 16 Years of Service as Sacramento’s Most Prominent Civic Leaders. Attendees will interactively participate in a celebration of community, food and fashion while local celebrity male models celebrate Mr. Shelby in a unique show of appreciation and style.
On Thursday, October 15, 2009, the community will unite in a celebration of appreciation and style to honor Sacramento’s newest retiree, the Honorable James C. Shelby. Mr. Shelby’s extensive record as one of the region’s most prominent civic leaders, including 16 years as President & CEO of the Greater Sacramento Urban League, warrants a community wide tribute worthy of such an outstanding career.
The event will feature tributes from community leaders and video slideshows in recognition of Mr. Shelby. Local celebrity male models, including Police Chief Rickey C. Jones and Senator Curren D. Price, Jr. (invited), will show off Macy’s latest fall fashions for men, from which Mr. Shelby’s next “career look” will be chosen by the audience.
