On Monday, following Pinkett Smith’s announcement that she wouldn’t watch or attend the Oscars, former “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star Janet Hubert — best known as Aunt Viv on the show — responded to the actress’ decision via a video posted on her Facebook page. In the candid four minute clip, Hubert said that there are more important issues to worry about in the world today than the Academy Awards.
“First of all, Miss Thing, does your man not have a mouth of his own with which to speak,” Hubert said. “And the second thing is, girlfriend, there’s a lot of sh*t going on in the world that you all don’t seem to recognize. People are dying. Our boys are being shot left and right. People are starving. People are trying to pay bills. And you’re talking about some motherf**king actors and Oscars. And it just ain’t that deep.”
