After a year of fundraising, planning and last month’s construction by 2,000 volunteers, the iconic McKinley Playground in Sacramento is scheduled to officially re-open today, Wednesday, July 31, at 5pm.
McKinley Playground was rebuilt after being destroyed by a fire last July.
The event will feature nine food trucks, music, entertainment, children’s activities and a visit from “the President.” Brief remarks at 5:15pm will then have the playground officially opened to children at approximately 5:20pm, and the community celebration with music and refreshments will continue until 7:30pm.
