The joy for living can be robbed by stress and depression leading one to moment(s) of anger, despair, and hopelessness.  I did not know Mr. Ron and Alyssa Coursey but I am so saddened and broken-hearted to hear of their untimely death.  When anyone does commit suicide, it is obvious they are suffering some undue amount of pain that outweighs everything else in their life.  I can relate to anxiety levels of stress reaching limits beyond one’s control and wishing for a way out.  You just never know what is really going on inside of a person’s mind and soul at that particular moment they decide to commit suicide or what led them to resort to this final act of taking their own life along with someone else.

As I’ve talked with an individual who knew Mr. Coursey he stated that he owned and managed Club Presents III (https://www.facebook.com/clubsac).  We talked about how popular Mr. Coursey and the club were. We also discussed the need for everyone to be very aware of individuals who may be our closest friends and/or relatives that are undergoing depression (and try to hide it or even acknowledge it) and how they need our help and support.  So many of us would hate to admit that we need to slow down, take a break, rest our bodies, talk to a counselor or psychiatrist, make some hard decisions in our lives, and ask for help.  When one commits suicide it confuses and hurts a lot of people so your prayers for the family members of Ron and Alyssa Coursey are a must.

  • Anyone who is among the living has hope. Ecclesiastes 9:4
  • Surely there is a future, And your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 23:18
  • Find rest, o my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. (Psalm 62:5)

I offer my condolescences for the family and I wanted to share one of the comments made by one of his closest friends and business partner, Josh Shockely.

Few people will ever know the stress that running a club puts on a person. Trying to keep owners happy, staff happy, patrons happy and safe, police and city happy. The feeling that know one cares about you unless your doing something for them is always on your mind. Constantly being disrespected if you tell someone no. Trying to keep people safe and being hated for it. Mix in that having a normal family life is almost impossible. Your never home when your significant other is. You feel guilty not being with your family. Trust is hard to find with so little time spent together. I know people think that running the club means money and women and always having a great time. In actuality it is a constant mental grind. Today was a reminder that in an instant it can all go wrong. My friend and business partner tried his best but depression and a sence of hopelessness won. Im broken hearted. Im so sorry that it ended like this. Although you drove me crazy sometimes, I will miss and always love you Ron.” https://www.facebook.com/josh.shockley
