It’s one thing for celebrities to attend fundraisers or visit Capitol Hill for the causes they believe in. But getting arrested? That’s the real deal.

Several weeks ago, Rosario Dawson joined the hundreds of protesters who marched on the Capitol for “Democracy Spring,” a demonstration against of money in politics. And along with many of her fellow activists, she was arrested after crossing a police line to engage in a sit-in.

But Dawson, in town for Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, described to partygoers at the Creative Coalition Benefit that her arrest experience was relatively painless.
