With “kitten season” under way, area animal shelters and groups are finding themselves with an influx of kittens in need of good homes, and this weekend are offering some events to help them get adopted.

The Sacramento County Animal Shelter is holding its 7th annual Kitty Palooza feline adoption event on August 3-4 from 12-4pm at the Shelter, 3839 Bradshaw Road, in Sacramento. All cats and kittens can be adopted for $15, and adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, microchip ID with lifetime registration, personalized pet ID tag and collar, one year license for County adopters, rabies and FVRCP vaccinations, free vet exam voucher, and FELV/FIV disease testing.

And El Dorado County animal groups are joining together to host a special kitten adoption event for the community on Sunday, August 4 from 11am-3pm at the El Dorado Humane Society, 777 Pleasant Valley Road, in Diamond Springs. All kittens will be available for adoption for half-price, only $40.
