UN Ambassador Susan Rice has dropped out of the running for the Secretary of State position, according to an article on NBC’s “Rock Center with Brian Williams” website. http://rockcenter.nbcnews.com

According to the article, Rice wrote a letter to President Obama officially removing her name from consideration for the position, stating, “If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly – to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities.”

Although Rice has been viewed as one of the front-runners to replace Hilary Clinton, she has reportedly been under scrutiny for comments she made after the September 11th attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

“Rock Center with Brian Williams” will reportedly have an exclusive interview with Rice tonight at 10p/9c.
