UPDATES:  INNOVATE HEALTH OUTREACH PROGRAM TARGETING AFRICAN AMERICAN MEN GOES NATIONAL WITH SUPPORT FROM THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION AND CELEBRITIES FROM SACRAMENTO. Officer Petri Byrd from Judge Judy announced that he is proud to join the Black Barbershop Health Outreach Program to become a spokesperson for the health awareness campaign. Officer Byrd says he was diagnosed with diabetes 1 year ago.  Byrd contacted the director of the program, Dr. Bill Releford this past Sunday after hearing the radio interview with Tommie Goss on the Gospel Express Show on 103.5 the bomb.  To quote Byrd: "What you don't know can kill you a whole lot! I'm blessed so far to not be on any medication. I've been able to control it through modifying my diet and exercise, but first you have to know about it.  Early diagnosis is the best treatment you can have for diabetes!"  Byrd will join Tommie Goss along with DJ Tosh as they plan to visit each barbershop participating in the health outreach campaign in Sacramento on Saturday, May 3.
