Sacramento's 16th Annual Juneteenth Celebration Reception, FREEDOM IS GOLDEN, taking place at California State Library Frgrance Garden, 900 N Street in Sacramento.
 
The Event Features:
    • VOICES OF OUR ELDERS video series introduction – In place of Juneteenth’s usual celebration format, we will introduce a new 6-part video series at this reception which will be produced this year. Learn more about this exciting new video series, which will feature interviews with community elders who’ll share their experiences in the struggle for civil rights and other important issues
    • A special California State Library exhibit examining pre-Civil War California and the impact of the Emancipation Proclamation on the state
    • Music by Flyism Uncensored
    • Food prepared by Sacramento Juneteenth
    • Black Chefs Collaborative
    • Spoken Word Presentations
