In this joint webinar, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will provide an overview of small business resources, while SCORE offers tips on setting your team up to work successfully remotely.

Working remotely can feel utterly different. It brings a set of specific challenges. How do you keep your team motivated? How do you keep communication flowing? How do you stay productive?

After years of working successfully with remote teams, we offer distillation of best practices that keep communication flowing easily, release social pressure, increase team productivity, and help establish trust while working remotely.

The specifics of each company’s setup are different, but there are key areas that all remote companies need to address in order to work remotely successfully long term.

Come learn about SBA resources, remote working or take the opportunity to share your best practices as well.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Janelle Green from the SBA’s Sacramento District Office economic development team will deliver the presentation. Created in 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is the only cabinet-level federal agency fully dedicated to small businesses and provides counseling, capital, and contracting expertise as the nation’s only go-to resource and voice for small businesses.

Laura Virginia Frew is an entrepreneur and self-management consultant who’s been working remotely for over 15 years. She founded and ran a bicycle tour operator, then joined a 21-person remote consulting firm where her team honed a set of best practices for successful remote work. She’s shared some of these in podcast interviews. More than anything, she loves helping small businesses solve the challenges they face. She has a B.A in International Relations from U.C. Berkeley, completed courses in Technology Entrepreneurship and Lean Process from Stanford Online, and is currently working toward a Nanodegree in Digital Marketing.
