All concerts begin at 7:30 pm on the Golden 1 Stage and are FREE with Fair Admission. You can purchase reserved seats to the concerts for either $10 or $20 depending on the concert.
Monday, September 4 Don't miss Ciara performing live in concert at the California State Fair on Mon-9/4. Her latest HITS include "1-2 Step", "Goodies", "And I", "Oh!" and now Ciara's back with a jam from the soundtrack to the film "Step Up". Dubbed the "First Lady of Crunk & B" by the producer who you should know, Lil Jon. She was born in Austin, TX, but with her father in the Army, Ciara spent time living in Germany, New York, California, Arizona, and Nevada before landing in Atlanta. In her early teens, she got a piece of paper out and wrote down her life's goal, to become a professional singer. Check out Ciara's site!
Thursday, August 17 The gifted Grammy-winning foursome of Nathan Morris, Michael McCary, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris, better known as Boyz II Men, will perform on Thurs-8/17 at the State Fair. Boyz II Men have hit the top of the charts on a regular basis with classics like "I'll Make Love To You," "End of the Road," "On Bended Knee," and the #1 "One Sweet Day" duet with Mariah Carey. Boyz II Men, the sensational blend of the four most influential voices to come around in the last decade, are far more than the record-breaking, award-winning 'doo-wop hip hop" group they appear to be.
Thursday, August 24 We know him as a celebrity comedian and actor. Don't miss Sinbad on Thurs-8/24. Some of his greatest debuts in showbiz include: Saturday Night Live (1992), A Different World (1988-91), The Sinbad Show (1993), Meteor Man (1993), Good Burger (1997), The Cosby Show (1987) and Moesha (2000). In addition Sinbad has written and produced several films. Sinbad's latest film, "Cutting Da Mustard" is a comedy that chronicles the lives of young aspiring actors who battle slings and arrows in the process of creating a community theater company.
Saturday, August 26 Don't miss the appearance of Tramaine Hawkins at the 3rd Annual Multicultural Gospel Celebration on Sat-8/26 from 10 am to 8 pm on the Center Stage. Hawkins is the producer of the smash hit "Oh Happy Day", the biggest selling gospel single to date. There will be hundreds of vocalists, praise dancers and pastors of all backgrounds and religions from churches across Northern California. Featured gospel groups include: Roland Pollard - Back to the Bible Children's Praise and Dance Group, The Gospel Motivators, Antioch Progressive Choir, and more.
HIP HOP Dance Offs So you Think You Can Dance??? Here's your chance to show off your moves and compete for the title of Best Dancer or Best Dance Group. The California State Fair opens August 11-September 4, 2006. Closed Mondays, Open Labor Day. On Saturday, September 2, parking lots close at 6:30 pm, gates close at 7 pm and the Fair closes at 10 pm.
