Elder Vernon Chappel. Elder
Vernon Chappel grew up in a family of music in
Bakersfield, California.
He and his siblings sang while his
mother was a choir director in the church.
Now Vernon is one of the most sought
after praise and worship leaders in the field.
He has devoted 30 plus years to the
music ministry.
Vernon Chappel is a contemporary gospel
vocalist with the soul of Thomas Whitfield and
the energetic flair of Milton Bingham.
His love for God is evident each time
ushers the church into His presence.
In addition to being a singer, Elder Chappel is a songwriter, arranger, music
director, pianist, psalmist, and First Tribe
Media Recording Artist.
All
of his songs combine music with ministry to
uplift the name of the Lord. Vernon has facilitated his popularity as a songwriter for
other artists.
His most successful song recorded by
Beverly Crawford in 1995, “Jehovah We Praise
You”, would emerge as a household worship
song sung by many nations.
Elder Chappel’s songs have also
been record by The Thomas Community Choir,
Dorothy Norwood, Lillian Lily of the
Mississippi Mass Choir, Southern California
Mass Choir, Venessa Michelle, Louisiana All
State Youth Choir, and Northern California
Mass Choir.
Vernon
has traveled throughout the United States and
other countries such as Bermuda, South Africa
and Europe, conducting music and praise and
worship conferences. Elder Chappel was selected songwriter of the year for
North and South Carolina Waljo Awards.
He served as National Praise and
Worship Leader for Bobby Jones Artist Retreat
and has been featured on TBN and Gospel
according to Jeff Majors.
Elder
Chappel is the founder and CEO of Unity in
Praise Music Conference of California.
He presently resides in Raleigh, North
Carolina where he serves as Music Pastor for
the River Church, Inc. with Pastors, Bishop
Joby and Sheryl Brady of Durham, North
Carolina.

on his life in the words of 1st
Peter 2:9, “
But
ye a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an
holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should
show forth the praises of him who hath called
you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
