It’s that time if year again! Black Family Day 2013 is right around the corner so make sure you save the date! Black Family Day is a community and family-friendly event celebrating the historical, social, artistic and educational achievements of the African Diaspora campus community at UC Davis. It is an opportunity to build community and commemorate with students, alumni, family and friends.

This year at BFD 2013 you can expect MUSIC, FOOD, GAMES, a CHILDREN’S FAIR, a JAZZ AND WINE social hosted by African and African American Alumni Association, and live PERFORMANCES ranging from singing, rapping, spoken word, poetry, stepping, and much much more.

Special Guest Headlining Feature from Blackalicious!! Blackalicious is an American hip-hop duo from Sacramento, California, made up of rapper Gift of Gab (born Timothy Parker) and DJ/producer Chief Xcel (born Xavier Mosley). They are noted for Gift of Gab’s often “tongue-twisting”, multisyllabic, complex rhymes and Chief Xcel’s “classic” beats.
