On February 12, 2009, the NAACP marked its 100th year anniversary. The NAACP Headquarters, based in Baltimore, MD, along with its 1,700 units nationwide, will host celebrations and observances throughout the year ending on February 12, 2010, that highlight the significant role the organization has played in leading social change in America. The Sacramento NAACP will kick-off its celebration on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 6 pm.

Senator Dutton is introducing a bill to delay the implementation of AB32 (Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Act) until the jobless rate is reduced to 5.8%. This would be great for minority owned small businesses and consumers because AB32 will add additional cost for energy and fuel to an already extremely difficult financial time. >>read more
