"Daniel Beaty" is seen/heard all over the internet doing his Def Poetry Jam, poem KNOCK KNOCK. He is an Obie and Audelco Award Winning New York Actor, Poet, Writer, Composer and Vocalist. He has performed at the White House, the Kennedy Center and at the National Black Theatre Festival. For THREE PERFORMANCES ONLY, He will be at TheGuild Theatre in Sacramento performing his one man show, THROUGH THE NIGHT.
In “Through the Night,” Beaty uses a unique blend of music, poetry, comedy, and drama to move seamlessly through six Black male characters, aged 10 through 60 who are facing issues of addiction, incarceration, disease and disenfranchisement. Telling their stories, he cries, talks, sings, laughs, recites spoken word poetry and uses words to trigger lighting fast character changes, while weaving a powerful story about the African-American male through the lens of his characters.
The 3 performances and times are as follows:

• Saturday, November 7, 2009, 8:00 pm
• Sunday, November 8, 2009, 3:00 pm matinee
Ticket prices are $25.00 for adults, $22.00 for Seniors/Students and Children. Discounted group rates will be available for groups of 20 or more and house buy outs.
