Don't miss the "Freedom Sisters Exhibit" at Central Library in Downtown Sacramento. Featuring 20 African American women who left a profound footprint on American History.  Get your kids, 4th - 8th graders to enter the Essay Contest for "Who is there favorite Freedom Sister and Why?" Call (916) 264-2920 for more info. See the many stories of courage and commitment among the many featured in the interactive exhibition which will run October 25 through January 4.  Some of the women in the exhibit include Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad; Rosa Parks and her brave refusal in 1955 to relinquish her seat on a Montgomery city bus; Fannie Lou Hamer and her courageous stand at a 1968 political convention. Bring your entire family to view the exhibit, a memorable historical moment in time, located in the Central Library first-floor lobby at 828 I Street in Downtown Sacramento. FREE ADMISSION>> more
