Pleshette
Robertson, CEO & Founder of Sacculturalhub.com was
chosen by the Zeta Phi
Beta Sorority as this year's "Woman of
Excellence".
Robertson graciously accepted the "Woman of
Excellence" award on Saturday,
March 15th at the Red Lion Inn in Sacramento presented
by the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. Melissa
Medeiros, senior high school student at Franklin High
School in Elk Grove also received the "Finer Womanhood
Scholarship" award of $500. Medeiros is
considering several top
choices for college that include: UC Berkeley and UC
San Diego. David Deluz, Chief
Community Liaison, CDRC and Member of Phi Beta Sigma
Fraternity was the keynote speaker who made an
outstanding presentation on "The Importance of
Finer Womanhood: A Male Perspective". De
Luz placed the historical achievements of Black women
in the highest regard with mention of our uncommon
loyalty, strength and commitment to successfully
plunging forward and upward in the face of genocide,
the great migration, and the break up of the African
American family. "You women don't miss a
beat; you walk when you have to, you work three and
four jobs when you have to!", proclaimed De
Luz. This wonderful and most
enjoyable banquet also included a live musical
selection by Chris Jones, the announcement of "Zeta of
the Year" who was named Soror Viancia Roberson and also
the reading of the fantastic poem, "Finer
Womanhood Personified" written by Soror Michele
Gray-Samuel, Chair of the Finer Womanhood Banquet
Committee. [In photo above: David De Luz,

What is Finer
Womanhood and why is it celebrated? Finer
Womanhood Week and Month is a Sorority hallmark
begun in 1923. Observance was originally held
the last full week of February, and was later expanded
to also include the entire month of March. Finer
Womanhood is defined as "the distinguishing
characteristics of a woman-one superior in kind,
quality or appearance, marked by or affecting elegance
or refinement. Finer Womanhood is a principle
unique to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and Finer
Womanhood celebrations and activities emphasize the
standards, morals, customs, and attributes of fine
young ladies, women, community, and Sorority members.
"When I first
heard I was nominated, I couldn't believe it and was
honored to be considered for this prestigious award! I
just kept wondering how did the committee come up with
my name", stated Robertson.
