Step 1: Contact a HUD Certified Counselor today to make an appointment to discuss your particular situation whether it be a foreclosure status or an adjustable mortgage loan.

Step 2: Contact your lender IMMEDIATELY and ask about their "Modified Loan Application Process" or if they can possibly assist with helping you transition from your adjustable mortgage loan into one of the new government loan products (for e.g. FHASecure program or the Freddie Mac product).

Step 3:  Start preparing your letter of hardship to state your case for why you are unable to pay the increasing mortgage payment on your adjustable loan (see example).  Fax and send this letter certified  to your lender with or without the modified loan application  DON'T PROCRASTINATE!!!

Step 4: If you need to consult with someone about your particular situation regarding receiving default notices or foreclosure crisis, contact one of the following who were on the panel of speakers at the Town Hall Meeting:
