2nd Annual Black Women's March presented by Black Women United

There will be a PHENOMENAL EVENTto take place this Saturday in Sacramento. If you don't know already, you are encouraged to joinBlack Women United (BWU) for the 2ND ANNUAL BLACK WOMEN'S MARCH! Taking place this Sat-6/9 from 9 am to 12 noon.  The Black Women's March begins at Crocker Art Museum and ends at the California State Capitol. If you missed last year's monumental and powerful event, come out this year and make history!

The theme for this year's march is #CanILive which represents the social injustices and challenges that Black women face every day. Black women experience inequalities within healthcare, civil rights, education and so much more. This is an event created by and designed for Black women, but allies and supporters are more than welcome to attend. When we #RiseUpAsOne, everyone wins!

Special guest speaker - MC Lyte and hosted by Takarra "Karijay" Johnson.  Several presenters include: Alicia Garza, Jamilah Lemieux, Blair Imani, Patrisse Cullors, Lyric Watts, Cat Brooks, Dr. Flojaune G. Cofer, Lyvonne Picou, Patrice Hill, Pleshette Robertson, Sonia Lewis, Rev. Tammie Denyse, and Valarie Spencer.  Performers include:  Porsche Kelly, Hundreds Unit, Blyue Rose Dance Project, Mino Yanci, Vadia Rhodes, Samiyah Lowe, Daughters of the Sun, and Grant Union High School Drum Line. Special event hosted by The California Endowment and BWU Sacramento.

Don't miss the Black Girl Magic Post-March Mixer hosted by BWU on Saturday night, June 9th from 5 pm to 9 pm at Momo Lounge, 2708 J Street in Midtown Sacramento.
