ABOUT THE MOVIEDJ, a troubled youth from Los Angeles attending the historically black Truth University in Atlanta, Georgia. When adapting to his new environment proves difficult, DJ finds solace in joining a struggling fraternity where he begins implementing his street-style dance moves in an attempt to help the step team win the coveted National Step Show Championship. Before long DJ becomes the competing fraternity's main rival, while trying to pursue his new love interest, deal with his own troubled past and learn the true meanings of brotherhood and Fraternity along the way.

Stomp The Yard is rated PG-13 for a scene of violence, some sexual material and language.

Opens in theatres nationwide on Friday, January 12, 2007

Registration starting at 1PM and Step Battle beginning at 2PM. See below for details about entering the dance/step battle. For more information about the dance/step battle in Sacramento call Pleshette at (916) 470-2337 or Greg at (916) 247-2327.

Spread the word about the Stomp The Yard National Step Battle in SacTown and bring out the entire family to attend the Holiday Expo and Musical from 1 pm to 7 pm on Saturday, December16th at Sacramento High School. FREE admission to everyone. For more info about the Holiday Expo call (916) 519-6606.

WHO CAN ENTER - the Team Dance/Step Show Competition:
* Reaching out to studio dance teams, community teams, high school 
teams, college as well as non college teams,and church teams.
* Contest is for Step Teams ONLY - no individuals or pairs.
*Teams must have at least 5 members and no more than 8 members in order to compete.
* Contestants must be 13 years of age or OLDER. A full set of 
guidelines and rules will be drawn up specifically for minors participating in the competition (this generally includes anyone under 18 – in some states it may be older).
* Minors must have their parent/guardian with them OR present a signed
consent form at registration.

PERFORMANCE:
* Each team will have one (2) minutes to dance in front of a panel of
judges.
* Each performance should be done to whatever beat the DJ at event is
spinning or to the team's choice of music. If the Team wants to 
perform to their choice of music, they will be responsible for providing it.

JUDGING:
* Performances will be judged on three (3) categories: Originality, 
Style and Execution.
* Each category will be scored based on a 1 to 100 point scale. The 
scores from the three categories will be averaged together for a final score from each judge, making the best possible score a perfect 100. The scores from the panel of judges will then be averaged together for the contestant's final score; again, best possible score being 100 points.

CHANCE TO WIN PRIZES that include:
An appearance on a local TV morning show
An all expense paid trip to New York to meet Ne-Yo at his New York
concert. The winners will also receive front row tickets and
backstage passes to the concert.
