The first memorial in the United States honoring the “foot soldiers” of the 1963 March on Washington will be unveiled on August 28 in Annapolis, MD, according to an article on EURWeb.com.

The Civil Rights Foot Soldiers Memorial reportedy honors the 250,000 ordinary citizens of the March that “risked the threat of personal harm to magnify the impact of the words of the civil rights leaders who spoke that day.”
