A phenomenal success with designs and fantastic routines hitting the runway at the 5th Annual Hair & Fashion Battle Expo on Saturday, July 18th at the Scottish Rite Center in Sacramento. APPLAUSE goes to Project Runway Designer Daniel Esquivel who opened the show with incredible models hitting the runway with beautiful and sexy designs.
Hats off to all of the wonderful designers and stylists/salons who competed in this production. What I loved most about this show was the great music choices some of the groups used and the kids in this show were just adorable and so very talented. Highlights of the night included a very entertaining presentation by Amped Entertainment dance group of three young ladies similar to that of Las Vegas showgirls. And, a salon skit with the singer, Raquela, who gave a solo performance that reminded me of the Burlesque show movie. Intermission Jazz by favorite Saxaphonist Shawn Raiford.
Winning 1st place of $1,000 in the fashion show was Thailand Designs by Latiya Gholor and winning 1st place of $2,000 in the hair show was Hair Gone Wild (Natomas). Other contestants in the fashion show included: Raul Designs By Raul Rosales, Shazaam Studios By Christy Jahlea Jahlou, Designs By Tyniece Hall, Zarah’Nized Wear By Zarah, Designs by Hill Tribe, Spectacular Fashion Show Event By Novella. And, contestants in the hair show included: Beauty Intoxication at Galleria Hair Design By Daniel Rita, Evolution Skincare Center Salon & Spa By Selena Johnson, Federico Beauty Institute With Roketa Raiford, and Marinello Schools of Beauty With Eddie Clark
