The Arts & Business Council of Sacramento and Urban Hive have launched the Sacramento area’s first “arts incubator” to help new creative enterprises learn to function as a business, according to an article on the website of the Sacramento Business Journal, www.bizjournals.com.

The collaboration has begun the process of recruiting 10 creative enterprises – including nonprofits, artists, and creative organizations – for the program that begins June 1, 2012. According to the article, participants will receive access to shared workspace, mentors, interns, and consultants, plus administrative support, business development, marketing help and more.

Applications are available at the council’s website, www.sacabr.org, and are due May 10.
