Super Bowl Feb 1 2009

Host Your Own Super
Bowl XLIII Party

For many
sports fans, the Super Bowl is the best excuse of the year to
host a
party.  Even non-sports fans like to get in on this
event.  It’s hard
to resist the excitement and casual fun that surround this big
day in
sports.  This is not a party to get stressed over.
So relax and read
our tips below to pull together a sensational Super Bowl Party your
friends will never forget.

The Food
Casual,
hearty food is the name of the game for
this party.  Leave your gourmet experiments for another
day.  Prepare
foods that you guests can eat in front of the televisions:
  • Chili
    – a great dish to serve at a Super Bowl
Party.  Since it can be served in large mugs, your guests can
    walk
around and hold it while watching the game.
  • Buffalo
Wings – this is a Super Bowl Party “must”.  It’s not a game
    with the wings.
  • Layered
Dips – What would a Super Bowl Party be without plenty of chips and
    dips for dunking and scooping.

Halftime Games

Don’t
let the football players on TV have all the
fun.  Plan a few activities to give your guests something to
do during
halftime, besides eating buffalo wings.  Stock up on enough
fun prizes
such as footballs, peanuts, drink cups, and team clothing items so that
everyone will go home feeling like a winner.

  • Challenge
your guests to a football tossing
contest.  If you can play outdoors, the person who can toss a
    football
the farthest wins.  If it has to be indoors use a Nerf
    football and
toss it through a hula hoop or in to a basket.  The winner is
    the guest
who can make the target the most out of five attempts.

How to Celebrate
the Obama Inauguration without traveling to
Washington

The
2009 Presidential Inauguration will be historic and unforgettable. You
do not have to be in Washington, D.C. to celebrate. Why not host an
Inauguration event that will commemorate this extraordinary occasion?

You have just three weeks to plan your party, so get started with Girls
Gone Diva today!

Party Ideas from the Divas:

  1. Decorate
with a patriotic theme: Yard signs, stars & stripes banners,
    waving
flags and much more. Don’t forget the red, white and blue balloons.
  2. Welcome
your guests with patriotic hats and noisemakers. Remember beads are not
just for Mardis Gras…pass out red, white and blue beads to your
    guests as they arrive.
  3. Order
a Barack Obama life size cutout so your guests will have photo
    opportunities with the new President.
  4. Pick
up patriotic paper plates, cups, napkins, forks & knives. You
    can
find these at your local party supply store. Don’t forget the
    centerpiece.
  5. Appetizers
and desserts will keep the tummies happy. We recommend Campaign Trail
Mix, Veggie Trays, Chicken Wings, Meatballs, Spinach-Artichoke Dip,
Baked Brie, Shrimp Cocktail, Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and
    Brownies.
  6. Don’t
forget the cocktails and drinks. Cater to your audience and be sure to
    serve both non-alcoholic & alcoholic.
  7. The
right entertainment and music will top off the evening with style. Keep
the music rolling and the big screen tuned to the D.C. event. And if
the crowd is right, break out the karaoke machine.

ENJOY!
