Sacramento NAACP and the entire Sacramento Community join together for a “Unity” Press Conference – Calling on Mayor Kevin Johnson to host a Community Crime Prevention Summit.

The Sacramento NAACP will be joined by family members of the victims, Mayor Kevin Johnson, Assembly member Roger Dickerson, Supervisor Joe Serna, Jr., Council members Bonnie Pannell and Sandy Sheedy as well as a host of various religious and community organizations including a diverse group of community leaders to hold a press conference on December 21st at 9:30 a.m. in front of Fly Cuts and Styles located at 6955 Stockton Blvd in South Sacramento, the sight of the senseless murders of Monique Nelson, 30 and Marvion Barksdale, 20 and injuries of several others in our community. “We have suffered a great loss and tragedy in our community this week that resulted in two lives being lost; which unfortunately happen too often and we appear to be silent on these issues.
