“12 Years a Slave” director Steve McQueen and Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o will be honored at the upcoming Hollywood Film Awards Gala Ceremony on October 21 in Beverly Hills.
McQueen will receive the “Hollywood Breakout Director Award” and Nyong’o will receive the “New Hollywood Award” for her performance in the film.
“12 Years a Slave” has been very well received at the Tulluride and Toronto Film Festivals, and received the “People’s Choice Audience Award” at Toronto this year.
