Tip #11 of 13 — Delicious Superfoods

SUPERFOODS! From the name alone, you might guess, a super food is a food with a kind of super power! Well, you’re exactly right! Superfoods are some of the most amazing flavorful foods on the planet with numerous benefits to your health and body. These foods are naturally packed with multiple vitamins and minerals and more nutrition than other foods. Some examples of Superfoods include:

  • Beans
  • Blueberries
  • Oats and Barley
  • Dark Chocolate
  • Salmon
  • Soy, and Soy Beans
  • Spinach
  • Tea (green or black)
  • Tomatoes
  • Walnuts
  • Yams
  • Yogurt

These foods can help boost your immune system, lower cholesterol, assist in weight loss, and inhibit the development of cancer! And, they actually taste good too.

One of my favorite Superfoods, blueberries are delicious and have wonderful healing effects on your body. Blueberries are full of antioxidants, potassium and vitamin C, phytochemicals called anthocyanins, all of which make blueberries an excellent helper in lowering risk of heart disease, inflammation and cancer. For other fruits with similar propertoes as blueberries, “try other fruits in the purple-red family: blackberries, raspberries, cranberries, and red grapes.” (US News Health)

Eating a handful these fresh berries or simply tossing them into your favorite oatmeal or yogurt, is an easy way to add flavor. For something unusually delicious, try adding berries to your favorite salad. Surprisingly delicious!

Whether you like blueberries, avocados, yams, yogurt, beans or green tea, finding ways to make these foods part of your everyday life can add variety and longevity to your most valuable asset, your health!
