A new study of the 14 leading airline carriers in 2012 has found that Virgin America did the best job of flying customers last year, while United Airlines did the poorest, according to an article on Reuters.com.

According to the article, the 23rd annual national Airline Quality Rating (AQR) found Virgin America had the best baggage handling rate of 0.87 mishandled bags per 1,000 passengers. American Eagle reportedly had the worst — 5.80 mishandled bags per 1,000 passengers.

Hawaiian Airlines was reportedly the best when it came to sticking to a schedule, with 93.4 percent of flights on time. The worst? ExpressJet and American Airlines with only 76.9 percent on time.
