Bill Cosby has been hammered with allegations of various forms of sexual misconduct over the last 40 years. The attacks have harmed his public credibility and also cost him a new show on NBC. After remaining relatively silent for quite some time, Cosby has started to fire back at one of his accusers by taking her to court.
Cosby Attorney Martin Singer has filed suit against Judy Huth, a woman whom he claims tried to extort $250,000 from Cosby in exchange for keeping the story out of the media. Cosby isn’t seeking a great deal of money, just $33,000, but it may be more than his client can afford to pay.
This filing is right after a separate legal action from Huth, who said that Cosby forced her to perform a sex act in 1974 when she was a 15-year old visiting the Playboy Mansion. Huth and her 16-year old friend were allegedly given alcohol by Cosby as well.
“(Huth’s) claims are absolutely false,” Cosby’s filing says.
