A new mayor was recently elected for Compton, CA – an African-American female mayor, according to an article on TheRoot.com.
According to the article, Aja Brown, 31, was elected mayor of Compton during a special runoff election on Tuesday, June 4. She is reportedly an urban planner and graduate of the University of South Carolina.
