CBS to debut groundbreaking ‘Beyond the Gates,’ the first black-led daytime drama
CBS — In a historic move for daytime television, CBS is set to launch “Beyond the Gates,” the first one-hour drama featuring a primarily Black and multicultural cast. The show, debuting during Black History Month (Feb 24th), aims to break new ground in representation on the small screen.
The actors and producers of “Beyond the Gates” are excited about the show’s potential impact.
“Beyond the Gates is the first soap to be greenlit in over 25 years. A collaboration between CBS and NBC. It’s exciting, groundbreaking for everyone in the industry, not just our show. In a predominantly African-American and multicultural cast. This is the first of its kind. We are the genesis. It’s a big. ” said one of the producers.”
