Chris Brown sets ‘X’ album release date

Don’t hold your breath, but Chris Brown’s long-delayed new album may finally see the light of day.

According to an image posted to his Instagram Sunday, X is slated for release Sept. 16.

“X is about life, it’s about me,” he told USA TODAY’s Edna Gundersen. “X is the 24th letter of the alphabet, and I’ll be 24 when it comes out. When you see X on a vial, it’s like forbidden fruit. For me, it means being able to express myself without a filter, without boundaries.”
