The City of Elk Grove has recently broken ground on the new Storybook Woods Park that will include three unique playground areas, a picnic area, open space and a storytelling circle area.
The 1.82 acre park is expected to be completed by April 2014 and will be located at 9925 Hatherton Way. The playground areas will include a Space Station area with outer space-inspired play equipment, Pirates Cove with a shipwreck play area, and Land of the Lost prehistoric playground.
A new pedestrian bridge that connects the park with an existing trail system will open at the same time, and the bridge will connect two Laguna Ridge area communities Del Webb and The Grove.
