Long-running dramas, including Mad Men and Game of Thrones, and newcomers such as Empire and Better Call Saul, top the most prestigious nomination category for the 2015 TCA Awards.
Nominations were announced Thursday for the 31st annual event, which will be held Aug. 8 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. Awards are determined by a vote of members of the Television Critics Association, a group representing more than 200 professional TV critics and journalists from the U.S. and Canada.
Nominations for the 2014-15 TV season are spread across five broadcast networks – ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW – as well as PBS, nine cable networks and Internet streaming services Netflix and Amazon. HBO tops the list with seven nominations, followed by ABC, CBS, AMC, and FX with five.
