Faith leaders to engage District Attorney Candidates on mass incarceration, restorative justice, prevention & more
What: Sacramento Area Congregations Together (ACT) will engage the Sacramento’s District Attorney candidates in a discussion around each individual’s platform, and approach to a variety of community issues including mass incarceration, juvenile justice, rehabilitation and prevention.

Who: Sac ACT faith leaders including Pastor Ronnie Walton, Jubilare Evangelistic Ministries; Pastor Joy Johnson, Higher Hope Christian Church; Pastor Kevin Brown and Minister Tramane Johnson, Mt. Sinai Church; Pastor Ben Rivers, Pastor Joseph Clopton, and Sistah Pat, For His Glory Church; Pastor Karen Abrego, Ebeneezer Christian Center; Pastor Gail Jack, Minister Valdez Anderson, St. Stephen AME Zion Church.  Over 300 community members are expected to attend.

When/Where: 7:00 pm, Tuesday, May 13, Jubilare Evangelistic Ministries, 1505 Sports Drive, Sacramento

Why: This is the first time in 20 years that Sacramento is electing a new District Attorney who make policy decisions impact individual cases, impact our communities, county and the state budget.   Sacramento faith leaders are seizing this moment to learn about the candidates and lift up their collective faith values and what it looks like in Sacramento’s criminal justice system.  This forum is an educational component to Sacramento ACT’s 2014 Primary Voter Engagement Campaign to engage 30,000 voters and get 7,500 to the polls on June 3rd to vote for the District Attorney and County Supervisor seats.
