Mignon Clyburn has recently been named acting chairwoman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), making her the first African-American woman to hold the position, according to an article on InlandValleyNews.com.
According to the article, this is the first time the president has appointed a woman to chair the commission, even on an interim basis.
