The Prevention Institute is honoring the memory of Dr. Antronette (Toni) Yancey today, Tuesday May 7, by inviting everyone to get and move with an “Instant Recess” to start making activity breaks a part of your daily routine.

At 1pm PST, gather your friends, coworkers and family members for a 10-minute “Instant Recess.” Click here to access a video of Toni and the Los Angeles Sparks that will lead you through a brief activity break. And make sure to take photos and videos and share them on their Facebook!

Toni passed away on April 23 at the age of 55 following a year-long battle with lung cancer. She worked to change the norms around physical activity by encouraging workplaces and schools to make brief activity a routine part of the day. She was the founder of “Instant Recess” — a “MOVEment of ACTIVE-Recess, dedicated to making America healthier 10 minutes at a time.”
