The July meeting of the Greater Sacramento Urban League Young Professionals (GSULYP) will feature stories and discussion by local media personalities who will share their experiences in the media business.

The panel for “Sacramento Media: The Real Stories in Black & Brown” will include Tia Ewing and Stefanie Cruz, anchors for Fox40 News; Pleshette Robertson, CEO & owner of Sac Cultural Hub; and Larry Lee, president and CEO of the Sacramento Observer.

The speakers will also discuss why they chose their career paths, how to break into the business and how individuals of color are often portrayed in the media. Discussion will be led by Larry Hygh Jr. of GSULYP.

“Sacramento Media: The Real Stories in Black & Brown” will take place Wednesday, July 10, from 6:30-8:30pm at GSUL Headquarters, 3725 Marysville Blvd., in Sacramento. The event is free to attend.
