Four local animal shelters have joined the initiative and are calling on the Sacramento community to #EmptySacShelters this weekend.

From 11am to 6pm Friday, October 18 to Sunday, October 20, Sacramento residents have the opportunity to be part of something big by helping to end homelessness for animals found in shelters. This weekend, participating local animal shelters will allow Sacramentans to adopt any animal from any shelter for just $20!

Participating shelters include:

  • Sacramento SPCA, 6201 Florin Perkins Rd.
  • Sacramento County Animal Care, 3839 Bradshaw Rd.
  • City of Sacramento Front Street Shelter, 2127 Front St.
  • Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary, 6001 Folsom Blvd.

The ultimate goal of the Empty Our Shelters Project is to close the doors at local shelters on Sunday, October 20 without an animal left in need of a home; however, the project will be considered a success if the community adopts 500 animals between the four shelters over the course of the weekend.
