“Scandal” actress hosted “Saturday Night Live” this past Saturday, as the show took the opportunity to also answer recent criticisms regarding its lack of an African-American female cast member.
A story about the show on EURWeb.com says “SNL” used a sketch to broach the subject — where Washington portrayed a number of African-American celebrities, including First Lady Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Beyonce — that was “both funny and made its point absolutely clear.”
The show also included a cameo appearance by Rev. Al Sharpton, according to an article on People.com.
