Singer Lauryn Hill may spend up to three years behind bars for tax evasion, according to an article on Billboard.com.
According to the article, Hill pled guilty to tax evasion in June 2012 and is scheduled for sentencing on Monday, April 22. However, further reports show the Grammy Award winning singer failed to file tax returns for three years from 2005 through 2007, during which time she made more than $1.8 million.
Hill is reportedly citing threats to herself and family members as the reason for why she has been absent from the music industry and why she didn’t pay her taxes.
