Singer Lauryn Hill has reportedly paid off the balance of the more than $900,000 she owed in back taxes on the eve of her scheduled sentencing, according to an article on Reuters.com.

She faced up to a year in jail if convicted, but her lawyer now says the final sentence is expected to be adjusted based on her recent repayment of taxes and penalties that had accumulated over the years.
