Lauryn Hill has reportedly received a postponement on her sentencing for tax evasion, and signed a $1 million deal with Sony Music that may help her avoid prison time, according to an article on Billboard.com.
According to the article, Hill — who last year plead guilty for not paying federal taxes on $1.8 million she made from 2005 to 2007 — appeared before a federal judge this past Monday, April 22, for sentencing. However, the judge postponed her sentencing, giving Hill until May 6 to pay off the $504,000 she owes.
During Monday’s proceedings, it was reportedly revealed Hill has recently signed a $1 million deal with Sony Music, which according to Billboard.com may help her avoid prison time.
