Yesterday, First Lady Michelle Obama recently hosted 54 8- to 12-year-old chefs for the second annual “Kids’ State Dinner” at the White House, according to an article on Yahoo! News.
The young chefs were all winners of a recent contest for healthy recipes held by Epicurious and the federal departments of Agriculture and Education. One winner was reportedly chosen from each of the 50 states, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands. All the winners were reportedly invited to the White House for a three-course meal and talks by Michelle Obama and President Barack Obama.
