Moonlight opens today, and is on course to be the most successful independent film of the year. However, the writer of this piece believes we’re also on track for another disappointing year, with regard to recognition for films that present black narratives, and that Moonlight may well become one of many recent films that’s ignored by critics and the Oscars.
