The National Museum of African Art recently received a gift of $1.8 million from the Sultanate of Oman, reportedly the largest gift the museum has ever received, according to an article on TheRoot.com.

The Smithsonian institution located in Washington, DC, will reportedly use the funds for programs that celebrate Omani and East African arts and culture, such as “living exhibits” with music and dance, art educator exchanges, lecture series, and workshops.
