This past Monday, President Barack Obama welcomed former baseball players of the Negro National League to the White House to honor them for their “contributions to American history, civil rights and athletics,” according to an article on USAToday.com.

The White House invited approximately 12 players, including Minnie Minoso and Ron Teasley, who had both played for the New York Cubans, as as well Pedro Sierra of the Indianapolis Clowns and former Detroit Stars owner Minnie Forbes, reportedly the last living owner of a Negro League team.
